JAIME CACHIGUANGO:

Antara, Zampona, Charango, Quena, Quenacho, Bombo
and Vocals.

Born in Otavalo, Ecuador, Jaime started playing the traditional Andean music of his country at the age of 12. He quickly learned the indigenous wind instruments of the Andes including Zamponas, Quenachos and Quenas, as well as the Charango and Guitar. He started performing and touring professionally in his native Ecuador at the age of 18. Later he became a member of one of the foremost exponents of Andean Music, the Group Nanda Manachi and the group Capakj. He has  toured Germany, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and the United States as a traveling musician since the age of 21.

FREDDY CHAPELLIQUEN:

Guitar, Zampona, Antara, Charango, Venezuelan Cuatro, Bombo and Vocals.

Born in Lima, Peru in 1962, he began studying the guitar at the age of twelve. He quickly became familiar with the popular music of Peru, as well as many musical styles of Latin America. Before  arriving in the U.S., Freddy toured Guatemala and Honduras with the vanguard Andean group ''Maicas'' based in Guatemala City. Freddy pursued graduate work in communications at the University of  Massachusetts, Amherst. He focused on the transmission of history and culture in preliterate indigenous societies. Founder and Director of the MarKamusic Ensemble, Freddy also enjoys his work as a producer and recording engineer. Recently, he produced and recorded two albums for Puerto Rican Guitarist and Virtuoso Cuatro player Jose Gonzalez on the Putumayo label, as well as three different
albums for MarKamusic.

ARTHUR "Junior" CLINTON:

Upright Bass, Guitar, Latin Percussion and Vocals.

Born in Bayamon Puerto Rico, Arthur began studying  music from an early age. He took a liking to Salsa music. The upright bass became his instrument of choice. Back in 1975 Arthur founded the Orquesta Komboloko in Bayamon. His orquesta was then known as Opus75.  Many of the most popular salsa musicians of today got their start as members of Opus75. Artists such as Eddie Santiago (lluvia) and Willie Gonzalez (Quiero Morir en tu Piel) were some of the well  known musicians that formed Arthur's ensemble.  The same venues in which Opus75 appeared also featured such legends as La Sonora Poncena, Willie Rosario, Impacto Crea, La Mulenze, Tito Allen, El Gran Combo and many others. In recent years Art resides in western Mass and remains Orquesta Komboloko's musical director.

Ahmed

AHMED GONZALEZ:

Silver Flute, Quena, Congas, Bongos, Bombo, Latin Percussion and Vocals.

Born in 1981 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he began studying the Flute at the age of nine, under the famed flutist Sue Kurian. Ahmed began professionally performing the flute, Latin percussion and back-up vocals at the age of fourteen with his father's band ''Banda Criolla''. He currently performs with Jose Gonzalez/Criollo Clasico and Orquesta Komboloko. Ahmed has recorded eight albums and toured Puerto Rico, Pennsylvania, New England and New York with the bands Criollo Clasico and MarKamusic. He has also performed at the famed Heineken Jazz Jam Series in Puerto Rico.

JULIO CESAR GUARCAX:

Quena, Quenacho, Antara, Zampona, Guitar, Charango,  Guatemalan Marimba, Tun, Mandolin, Percussion and Vocals

Julio Cesar was born in Solola, Guatemala. From an early age  Cesar was drawn to the rare Mayan instruments of his native Guatemala. These included the Tun, the Tambor and the Marimba.  He began performing Mayan folk music professionally with the Guatemalan group Rilaj Ma'am Xocomil at the age of 21. Soon he also became accomplished on the guitar and the mandolin.  In 2004 he joined the group Kinkayú where he developed his skills as an Andean Musician by mastering the indigenous wind instruments of the Andes as well as the Charango.

Sergio

SERGIO D'ORSINI:

Electric Guitar, Spanish Classical Guitar, Percussion and Vocals.

Born in 1960 in Montevideo Uruguay, he began studying electric Guitar technique at the age of 8.  Later he learned to play drum kit as his main instrument until the age of 16. Sergio began to play professionally, at this early age. He currently performs with MarKamusic and Orquesta Komboloko. Although a versatile guitarist of most popular and traditional Latin American styles, Sergio is also acknowledged for his understanding of Latin Jazz, Jazz, Funk, rock and Pop music. He studied at the prestigious Sound Engineering School in Stuttgart, Germany, where he attained a recording engineering degree. After finishing his degree he went to tour all over Europe with his band Poster. He is also renown in his country for producing over 60 CDs for Sony Music, Polygram and BMG. Sergio has worked with such uruguayan greats as the brothers Fatoruso, Alfredo Zitarrosa, Los Olimarenos and Ruben Rada. Sergio toured all over Europe with his own band.
